Description:
This course surveys all aspects of
technical services including: acquisitions, bibliographic control
(cataloging and classification), serials management, government documents,
repair and maintenance of resources, library automation, and basic budget
management. Emphasis will be placed on the philosophy, policies and
procedures of each service area and how they interrelate. Instruction in
the use of automated technical services database systems will be provided.
