So-called Outcrop of Death in Gunnison County Colorado. These Paleozoic
rock units are part of a recumbently folded footwall in a series of Cretaceous
thrust fault sheets. These thrust sheets are associated with the Laramide Orogeny partially
responsible for the uplift of the Rocky Mountains. Individuals in picture are: (blue shirt)

The Department of Geology at Minneapolis Community and
Technical College
offers geology courses of the highest quality to science and non-science majors.
Through classroom instruction and discussion, laboratory exercises and
directed study the department’s goals are to prepare each student for
advancement in his or her chosen field of study.
