Is Darren going to put many verbs on the test?

Yes, he is going to put lots of irregular verbs on the test.  Can you conjugate them?

No.  They are hard.  I don’t understand conjugation.

I understand it.  I am going to help you.  (ayudar)

 

Do you like the cafeteria?

No I hate it.

Why?

Because the food is terrible. 

Well, don’t eat it.  I eat the salads.  (ensaladas)

Where do they serve them?

I buy them in line (línea) B.

 

I hear a strange noise (ruido).  Do you hear it?

No, I don’t hear it.   Where is it coming from?

I think it’s over there.  I hear it again.  Can you hear it now?

No, but I hear you very well.  You don’t have to shout.  (gritar)

TEST VOCABULARY & GRAMMAR>

The exam will take place the Monday before Thanksgiving Break.

Verbs from the list, and conjugations

Activities, especially the ones you like and don’t like

Possessive adjectives (mi, mis, tu, tus, su, sus…)

Useful adjectives

Weather expressions, and activities to do in those conditions  (no clothing vocabulary!)

Mexico

There will also be reading (about Mexico) and listening comprehension exercises.

I will not test you directly on direct object pronouns yet, but some will appear in a few parts of the test. There will not be a section dedicated to direct object pronouns.  You can use these pronouns to answer questions when appropriate, but you don't have to. 

Complete the workbook for Chapter 4 and you will be well-prepared. 

Composition—Write a letter of 50-100 words to a friend in a Spanish speaking country.  Describe what you do in Minnesota, focusing on what you can do at different times of the year.  (In winter, you can… In Summer, you can…) Your favorite activities and tourist attractions. 

Useful structures:  Es posible + infinitive ,  Es divertido + infinitive
